The exhibition takes its cue from absurdist protest processions: Poland's Orange Alternative in the 1980s, the Monstration marches in Siberia since 2004, the Alytus Biennial in Lithuania. People carried banners with slogans that made no sense, because irony and absurdity could say what direct speech no longer could.
We are looking for wearable pieces with text on them: slogans, one-liners, wordplay, jokes that turn out to be serious. Ironic rather than direct protest, big and visually loud, in any language with an English translation. Works should fold, pack or deflate for travel.
Alongside the stand, the exhibition includes a 30-minute presentation on the Handwerk & Design stage, where artists present and carry their work.
